From the Dean of Libraries

Vicki PhotoIn October 2016, the board, staff, and friends of the Wegner Health Science Information Center wished Vicki Carlson, Operations Manager, the best as she embarked on retirement. Vicki began her career in libraries in the Canton, SD, school district. She later joined the University of South Dakota library staff that served both the Sioux Valley Hospital and the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Vicki continued her service with the University of South Dakota upon the opening of the Wegner Health Science Information Center in 1998.

Between 1998 and her retirement in 2016, Vicki adapted to and helped shape many changes in library services at the Wegner Center, and her commitment to excellence was a constant throughout all the changes. Her commitment to her colleagues and library users was always evident. She is missed by colleagues and library patron alike.

Best wishes, Vicki, as you enjoy time with family and friends.
